Change is the only constant as they say and the race is on. Is there a stopping? No!! So then what stops us from adapting quickly to the change when all the pundits, corporate gurus, advisors, philosophers, our loyal friends on social media are telling us to ‘ADAPT ‘, and what deters change in our behaviors?

Is formula to success less known? No!! Hmm, maybe we lack resources or we are not as skillful others around us are? That’s not always the case. And it’s not always right that hard work pays off, some luck is required though – well that will open up another discussion…..and we are not crossing border here.

The topic is not new and we all are privy to such discussions. We have seen organizations spending millions to transform their culture so they adapt to changing circumstances, remove barriers and limitations which people have in their minds. All of this is done with an expectation to get quick results. But fact of the matter is that required behavioral outcomes takes time, so why would an organization spend heavily just to communicate their people basics like change management, effective communication, adaptability and teamwork as these are the things that we ideally expect people to have knowledge of or their believe in. Well, simply because they do not want to fail and understands that their employees have limitations and desired changes may not sets in quick and those who acknowledge this fact are more likely to succeed as compare to the others.

Once an Organization enters the region of change, among other things, they are at the mercy of their people; their past experiences, beliefs, limitations, strengths and their ability to Learn- Unlearn and Relearn. A similar situation in our lives requires us to unfreeze our old learnings which are no longer valid and freeze instead the right ones.
